First Mow:
Usually, we are able to mow the lawn the first time for the normal price as quoted. However, if we show up for your first lawn mowing service & the lawn is overgrown or you have large deciduous trees that produced a lot of leaf drop in the winter & you didn’t get it cleaned up, we will have to charge an additional fee.

Mowing Height:
One of the most important factors in mowing is mowing height. Here at All Seasons Lawn Care, we use proper maintenance procedures to optimize the appearance of your lawn. Understanding the type of lawn turf is essential in helping us to choose the correct height to cut & how often to mow. Mowing cool season grasses too short can result in undesired stress possibly causing insects, disease & many unwanted weeds.

By mowing frequently & maintaining a uniform turf surface, a neat appearance can be achieved, even at taller heights. Unfortunately, a common perception is that a short turf is superior in appearance to the tall turf. In reality, turf that is uniform appears neater than uneven turf, regardless of height. Mow the turf often enough so no more than 1/3 of the grass height is removed at any single mowing. If your mowing height is 3 inches, mow the grass when it is 4 inches tall. Mowing turf at the appropriate height is important to turf health & appearance. Turf cut too short usually has a shallow root system, lacks density & often requires pesticide applications to fend off weed & pest infestations that commonly occur in stressed lawns.

Recommended minimum mowing height for most turf in our area is 3.5 to 5 inches. Mowing to a height of less than 3.5 inches can result in decreased drought & heat tolerance & higher susceptibility to insects, diseases & weed damage. The height of the cut will be raised when the summer heat hits to ensure optimal lawn health.

We mulch or discharge the grass clippings instead of catching it & hauling it away as this method looks great & promotes a healthy lawn since you are putting the grass clippings back into your soil. Grass clippings are full of nitrogen & moisture, two things your lawn loves.

Assigned Lawn Service Day:
All Seasons Lawn Care works Monday through Friday within designated areas each day of the week ensuring that each customer is assigned a specific service day throughout the season. We make every effort to maintain the same route every week. Once we are into the full growing season & our customer base route has filled up, we will attempt to arrive about the same time each week. Several factors can affect our schedule, so we cannot guarantee an exact time or specific time range each service day.

Miscellaneous/Optional work (shrub trimming, mulch, etc.) is scheduled for the end of the week after all customer’s lawns have been mowed, & may not be performed by the mowing crew.

Skipping:
Weekly clients are scheduled for 32 cuts this year. Sometimes customers call us to skip cuts so they can save money if their grass isn’t growing very fast. The price we charge assumes that every weekly client takes 32 cuts per year. In order to provide the best lawn care & because of the lawn & logistical trouble skipping creates, we strongly encourage you to not miss any mows. We recognize that there may be an occasion when this isn’t possible. All Seasons Lawn Care will not skip two or more consecutive weeks of mowing. Please note that our crews do not make the decision of whether or not your yard needs mowing, so you will need to contact the office to skip a scheduled mowing. In order for a requested skip to take effect, skip requests must be made by 3 pm on the preceding day. The next cut following a one-time skip request may be charged at a bi-weekly rate. Service will be resumed the following week. Clients on a non-weekly service schedule are not eligible to skip any scheduled lawn service.

Bi-Weekly Services:
Bi-weekly services are offered, but we do not recommend this service, especially in the faster-growing portion of the season (April – June). Your yard growth may vary due to a variety of conditions, i.e. watering & fertilizing schedules, etc. We also will not cut the grass shorter than industry accepted standards, which recommends only cutting 1/3 off the grass height each mowing. Bi-weekly servicing lends itself to such problems & complaints as the following: thatch build-up, grass clumps, excessive grass clippings, grass lines or ridges which appear that we skipped while mowing & the appearance of an uneven cut in the yard. Unfortunately, we will not be able to come back to correct these issues or guarantee these services as we do on our weekly services.

Watering:
Once you have been assigned a service day, please adjust your sprinkler schedule to not water the night before your scheduled service day as well as your service day. The dryer the lawn the better your lawn will look & cut. Wet grass causes many issues like clumping & streaking that are not healthy for the lawn.

Rain:
Rain & severe weather are inevitable. If we are washed out due to weather, we will adjust our schedule for all remaining services as quickly as possible. Typically, we will be there the next day, weather permitting. If it rains any day in the week prior to your mow day, your mow day could be pushed forward or backward one day as we work to get back on schedule. Your patience & tolerance is greatly appreciated on rain delay weeks as all-weather delayed work will be rescheduled first. Please keep in mind that inclement weather at the beginning of the week could affect the entire week’s schedule.

Gates & Pets:
All pets must be indoors & all gates must be unlocked on your service day. If we arrive at your property & cannot gain access either due to a pet in the yard or a locked gate, you will still be charged. It’s best if you use a combination lock & provide us with the combination. Please pick up all pet droppings. If pet droppings are not picked up, we reserve the right to charge a $5.00 equipment clean up fee per visit.

Our crews are very careful about closing gates before they leave, but we can’t guarantee that a pet will not escape from the yard, therefore, you accept our service with this provision. All Seasons Lawn Care is not responsible for lost or injured pets.

Items in the Yard:
We ask all customers to please pick up all small items such as toys, hoses, large rocks & other items in the yard before we arrive each week. Our Lawn Care Technicians are not responsible for picking up any items left in service areas & will do their best to perform services around such items. Large items such as lawn furniture & trampolines will be mowed & trimmed around. All Seasons Lawn Care is not responsible for damage to or from any items left in service areas.

Holidays:
All Seasons Lawn Care works Monday through Friday & will take time off for certain holidays. If your service day falls on a holiday, we will move all scheduled services for that day forward or back one day. We observe Memorial Day, Independence Day & Labor Day.

In this case, billing for services rendered will be immediate. Please understand though, that if you do not cancel your service in writing, we will return to your house from week to week throughout the season & from season to season until you cancel in writing.

All Seasons Lawn Care may terminate any service without notice for any reason & without consequence.

We will promptly put you back on the schedule once payment has been received.

Clients suspended for non-payment will now be charged a $5.00 reactivation fee. Additionally, clients who are suspended 2 times within the same season for non-payment, must go on a pre-pay schedule on the first of each month.
